Evening at Sushma's Wedding - August 13th

There was a mail some time back from one of our classmates with a pretty strange subject line
"update". I was wondering what could it be. The mail talked about her relocation from Hyderabad to Bangalore and how she was missing Hyderabad (the night life over there) and other stuffs. She also had written about her wedding this August. The first wedding in our bacth. Everyone was so exited almost 1 month before the wedding; what to buy as the gift, who will pool in, who will get a separate gift. I even think girls would have thought about what to wear, which color attire to put on. Tons of mail running around, excels sheet maintained, what not. Uhfffff!! It was all done for none other than Sushma's wedding (here after referred to as Mrs Sushma). People had made palns to be in Bangalore 1-2 months in prior. Ppl flew to bangalore from chennai, pune, and not to forget that Suroop(MC) flew almost 4000 miles from the east. Finally the R-night was here and and we guys hadn't even planned what to buy as the gift. The reception was on saturday night and that morning we started discussing as what to get. Actually if they had taken my suggestion me I wud have sugested to chuck the gift, take some flowers or at the most a bouquet and hog properly and come back. Anyways I'm used to take gyaan from ppl. Poor vicky he coudln't decide where to pool in, finally he joined in with the bigger gang. Finally we got a small gift wrapped in gift wrapper. We wanted her to struggle a bit for this small gift, so thought we shall present it in a different way. We made this small gift look a mightier one by having a 15-20 layers of newspaper. Then a gift wrapper and a floater box and again a gift wrapper. We wanted to be there by 7:30 so that we will get a good 2-2 1/2 hours to spend with our old classmates. But as usual we reached there at around 15 mins past 8. All others had come and were getting ready to get on the dias to wish Mr and Mrs Sushma(zara hatke). We spent some time there cracking PJs and "kullu" jokes. To everyones surprise Vijay simha was free this weekend(No ceremonies to attend). Finally humne bhi dias chadne ki taqlif leli. Photo shoto leliya, wished the couple. Ravi then asked Sushma "We want you to open this gift now". The stuggle started. I could see; the couple had already started sharing the first tough time of thier married life, gr8 start. Sushma was cursing us for this and said "thanks for coming but no thanks for the gift". We then headed towards Dining Hall, hotte tumbha oota maadidari, decided to come even the next day as the food was delicious.
